RMP was established in 1969 by Professor Robin Mackenzie. Since 1997 it has been operating as an acoustic consultancy division of Edinburgh Napier University.
RMP’s research team are proud to be closely associated with the Queen’s Anniversary Prize awarded in 2015 to Edinburgh Napier University for its internationally acclaimed work in timber engineering, sustainable construction and wood science. This follows a similar award in 2009 recognising pioneering research by RMP staff in Innovative Housing Construction for the development of Robust Details.
RMP’s French project team received the ANC highly commended Environmental Acoustics Award for European Noise Directive action plan implementation.
RMP were the acoustic consultants on the mixed use development at Advocates Close, Edinburgh, which won Scotland’s top architectural award, the RIAS Andrew Doolan award for “Best Building in Scotland”. The project has also received the coveted Project of the Year Award at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Scotland Awards 2015.
